The hands are massaging and stretching your joints, loosening the fascia, and calming your nervous system. They’re supporting you in finding access to your inner balance and inner strength. Everything is perfect. What more do you want from life?

And now imagine that these two soothing hands are your own. YOU are the person giving others this sensation of aliveness. Moreover, while being here in Switzerland, where the cold season is approaching. With your hands, you are accompanying people on a journey to Hawai'i and back again. Once they have landed back on the ground of reality, you release them into everyday life - strengthened, relaxed and at peace with themselves.

Lomilomi goes deep - and works deep

The feeling of joy that your hands are inducing has a name: Lomilomi massage – a traditional Hawaiian body therapy. In English the word lomi means: "to knead, to massage". Doubling the word refers to the intensity of the massage. Lomilomi is not a soft caressing massage. It goes deep - and works deep!

Developed centuries ago in the Polynesian region, Lomilomi is a wonderful possibility to do something good for the people around you. With the appropriate know-how you can support and strengthen your family, friends, and other people around you. You can help them with acute ailments, as well as supporting them in reducing stress. Just like the people in Hawai'i do: Lomilomi massages are part of traditional everyday life.

The next one starts on January 11, 2023 and costs 990 CHF. After completion, you will be able to give a Lomilomi massage in a personal environment, that is, in a family, friends and acquaintances setting.

Need for more Body Therapists

Module 1 is the foundation of all further courses. These lead you deeper into the world of Lomilomi. Our part-time diploma training extends over a total of 41 days or 330 hours, spread across one year. Throughout eleven modules we introduce you to the world of Lomilomi. You will learn all the Lomilomi techniques with the corresponding anatomy, you will learn the central aspects of Hawaiian culture, you will learn about medicinal plants from here and Hawai'i, and our teacher from Hawai'i - he specifically comes to Switzerland for this purpose – will introduce you to Hawai'i's philosophy of life, which is directly connected to Lomilomi. In other words, you will begin to understand why the concept of Aloha is so important and why our world would be a much happier and more peaceful place if we all embraced the Hawaiian way of thinking.

After completing the course, you can make Lomilomi body therapy your profession and open your own practice. Currently it is a good time to do this. Similarly to the shortage of caregivers in hospitals, there is an increasing shortage in body therapists. Cost of the full training: 7'900 CHF. Are you interested? Does this sound exciting to you?

Billing via Health Insurance

One more thing: Through the diploma training at AlohaSpirit, you have the chance to bill your services through an - increasing - number of health insurance companies. However, therefore you are required to complete the training in medical basics and get certified by the organizations for complementary medicine (EMR or ASCA).

Please note: Within Switzerland AlohaSpirit is currently the only school for Lomilomi that meets the qualitative requirements of ASCA and EMR. Therefore, billing through the health insurance companies is only possible with a diploma from AlohaSpirit.
