Emotional intelligence from a Hawaiian perspective

Seminar with Kumu Keala Ching on the Hawaiian philosophy of life Ho'oponopono

Ho'oponopono is one of the most important Hawaiian philosophies of life. The term is based on the Hawaiian word Pono, roughly meaning "righteousness". The doubling of the word emphasizes the importance of the subject.

The goal of Ho'oponopono is to find the "right" thing, that is, the solution that brings well-being to all involved. However, Ho'oponopono also exists in an individualized form: Self-Ho'oponopono. Here the focus lies on finding the "right" and thus best way for oneself personally.

Self-Ho'oponopono helps to recognize how challenges are viewed from a Hawaiian perspective and what steps we can take to find solutions. Further, Self-Ho'oponopono is a way to approach our lives happier, lighter and with more self-confidence and self-responsibility. We live life instead of being lived by life.
